The new flight was to be integrated with the United States Army 135th Assault Helicopter Company (AHC) flying the ubiquitous Iroquois helicopters in both the utility and gun-ship configurations. Mr Allen Fairhall, Minister for Defence, announced the formation of this unit on 14 July 1967.
